What are the different types of cell phone
case clips?
-
Spring Loaded Belt Clip - Spring
loaded belt clips are a stationary clip attached to the back of the
case. These types of clips are generally covered with leather.
-
Standard Swivel Belt Clip -
Swivel belt clips have two parts. The spring loaded clip
portion attaches to a belt, purse, visor, or other item. The
back of the case has a button which slides and locks into the spring
loaded clip.
Releasing the case is as easy as pushing the button on the clip and
lifting the case out. These swivels freely spin within
the belt clip and are good for cell phone users that constantly
catch their phone on things.
-
Ratcheting Swivel Belt Clip -
Ratcheting swivel clips work just like the standard swivel belt clip
other than the button on the cell phone case has 8 indentations.
The indentation work with the spring loaded belt clip to ratchet the
phone into position horizontal or vertical positions. Once
locked in place, the phone will stay in the horizontal or vertical
position unless moved to another position. These are great
options if you like to change the position of your phone while
standing, sitting, etc.
-
Removable Belt Clip - Removable
belt clips allow the clip or button to be removed from the back of
the case. Krusell Multiadapt cases have this option as do some
Body Glove Sport cases. These types of clips are great for
cases when you want to carry your phone in a pocket and still have
the protection of the case.

What are the different types of cell phone
case materials?
- Standard Leather - Standard
leather cell phone cases generally use a thicker, bulkier leather.
As a result, the leather will not form fit the phone as well but
does provide good protection. Our standard leather cases use
this type of material.
- Premium Leather -
Premium leather cases use a
higher quality leather that is thinner than the standard leather and
generally has a smooth feel to it. These types of cell phone
cases will form fit more to the phone. Because these types of
cases will form fit, the first time the phone is inserted into the
case you should make sure the case is positioned correctly.
Premium leather also provides good protection. Cases that use
this type of material are the Krusell leather cases, our Premium
Cases, and many OEM cases.
- Padded Leather -
Padded leather cases use a premium leather but
add a thin layer of padding to the backing. This results in a
nice feel to the case and adds an added layer of protection for the
phone. These types of cases also will form fit on the phone so
should be checked for a correct fit when first used.
- Neoprene - Neoprene cases were
first made popular by Body Glove. Neoprene material is shock
and water resistant provide great protection for your cell phone.
This type of material may form fit a little over time so care should
be used when inserting the phone to be sure it is positioned
correctly. Neoprene cases tend to have thicker edges around
the stitching due to the thickness of the material.
- Canvas - Canvas cases provide
exceptional protection but are rough and bulky. These cases
are most often used in cases where the phone will be subject to
harsh conditions such as a construction site.
What to watch out for when purchasing a cell
phone case?
- There are significant quality differences between
cell phone cases. Look for cases that have the correct
openings for charging and headset ports. The screen opening
should not cover portions of the screen and the case should not be
too tight. A cheap case can cause damage to the phone by
leaking glue or damage the screen by applying too much pressure.
At Discountcell we guarantee all of our cases will fit your phone as
advertised and will have all the correct openings for ports.
